Senior Consultant ESG Assurance
Sustainability has been high on the agendas of many companies for years. From Climate Change, Biodiversity, Circularity, equal opportunities for people and other human rights issues up to Governance. Companies are expected to measure and report on their sustainability performance, driven by the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
KPMG is determined to play a significant role in bringing reliability of sustainability information to a higher level. We are looking for new ambitious colleagues who want to contribute to a better world, in our growing sustainability assurance team.
Your challenges
- You work with colleagues from different departments and countries on assignments for multiple international clients.
- You work together with clients, colleagues and specialists in ESG topics such as CO2 emissions, human rights and biodiversity.
- You support our clients by assuring that their sustainability information is accurate.
- You perform interviews with companies to understand their processes and to investigate whether measures are needed to ensure that the information in the report is correct. With the same goal, you go on (site) visits to your clients (possibly in different countries).
- You act as the linking pin between KPMG and the client whilst maintaining business contact with different stakeholders.
- You work in teams in which automated web, data and text analysis tools are used to verify the report is an accurate and complete representation of reality.

- Your focus and mindset are to make a difference.
- An academic (WO) Master's degree in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience, preferably in the field of assurance and/or ESG.
- Fluency in English (both written and verbally).
- Fluency in Dutch is a plus, but not necessary.
- An understanding of project management and consultancy skills.
- The ability to coach more junior colleagues.
- Commercial and conceptual thinking.
- Project- and time management skills.
- Affinity with data analysis and you are skilled with Excel.
- Ability to work independently and you enjoy the challenge of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure.
What will you do in this position?
As a senior consultant ESG assurance, you will act as a senior team member to ensure the reliability of the ESG information reported by a company, in order to provide confidence to stakeholders such as consumers, shareholders, employees, NGOs, governments and many others with reliable ESG information. You are part of KPMG's Sustainability team consisting of more than 100 ESG specialists, who provide both assurance and advisory services.
