Sustainability vacancies

We assist our clients in their transformation towards a sustainable organization, and we take our own ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) responsibility very seriously. Because if we truly want to make a difference, it is important to embed ESG in everything we do.

That means, for example, adjusting our travel behavior to reduce our ecological footprint in order to achieve net zero by 2030. Additionally, we collaborate with various stakeholders to contribute to societal projects.

We encourage you to join us in these efforts, such as using your expertise pro bono, providing job application training to disadvantaged youth or teaching programming to refugees. Regardless of the team you work in, you can take various modules through our online ESG Academy on sustainability challenges and solutions. We believe in leveraging our passion, knowledge, and expertise together to make a difference.

What do we do in the Advisory team?

Working in the world of sustainability. That means you're dealing with high-level topics like climate change and energy transition, right? Well, it's much more than that. What does working in the sustainability department - with a team of a hundred people - at KPMG actually entail? One thing is clear: it is a highly versatile field that is continuously evolving!

Sustainability involves a significant transition. Nowadays, every organization has a climate or sustainability strategy. We help shape and execute these strategies. Client inquiries vary widely but always have a common denominator: concretizing sustainability strategies. And these can range from strategic to operational levels.

KPMG's sustainability department provides both assurance and advisory services. Our advisory practice offers a wide range of services, from establishing sustainability strategies to conducting specific deep dives on circular economy, sustainable finance, decarbonization, and human rights. The projects that our consultants work on vary from short sprints of a few weeks to projects with a horizon of several months or multi-year partnerships.

What do we do in the Assurance & Reporting team?

For the effective development of strategies, accurate reporting on sustainability performance is also important. Reporting provides insight (often in an annual report) into how a company is performing on the sustainability cornerstones in its strategy, in the areas of environment, social and governance, also known as ESG. ESG reporting allows a company to assess non-financial indicators and promotes further strategy development.

During an assurance project, we get a glimpse into our clients' operations, into how they manage their strategy, collect data and report on it in their annual report. In assurance, consider for example auditing non-financial information, such as water consumption, carbon emissions and HR or safety indicators. This way, we help our client give their investors and other relevant stakeholders a reliable view of how the company manages and performs on social and environmental impact.

ESG reporting is constantly evolving and will play a major role in the coming years, both in the corporate and public sectors. This is widely driven from international initiatives such as the European Union's European Green Deal. From the Assurance & Reporting team, we are closely involved in these developments and there is plenty of room for innovation.
