Are you interested in financial audits and do you have a passion for sustainability? The ESG Audit & Assurance Academy offers you the best of both worlds. You will combine working as a financial auditor with audit assignments focused on sustainability. Additionally, you will obtain the title of registered accountant (RA). ESG auditing is a rapidly evolving field that is becoming increasingly relevant, especially with the European CSRD legislation requiring companies to report on their impact on people and the environment starting from 2025. Do you want to develop yourself in this area?
As an ESG auditor, you will build the future
You will provide assurance that data is accurate, both for financial information and sustainability data. This includes aspects such as the percentage of women in top management, CO2 emissions, waste management, and water and energy consumption. It is about much more than just euros. Organizations have the responsibility to operate as sustainably as possible, and as an external party, you and your colleagues objectively verify if they are transparent about their sustainability efforts.
Structure of the ESG Audit & Assurance Academy

55% financial audit
Approximately half of your time will be spent in one of the audit departments. Here, you will learn all the ins and outs of the audit profession and the structured approach that accompanies it. In this regard, it is similar to the Financial Audit & Assurance Academy. -
25% sustainability audit
You will carry out various ESG audit assignments for the sustainability department in Amstelveen. Clients are located throughout the country, so whenever possible, you will be assigned to projects in your region. What is great is that KPMG has one of the oldest sustainability departments in the Netherlands. At the same time, the field of ESG auditing is still very new and evolving. In this department, you will be challenged to think critically and your initiatives will be highly encouraged. -
20% registered accountant education
Aside from your work, one day per week will be dedicated to your education as a registered accountant.
