The Head of IT Business Management (IT BM) within the IT Services organization plays a crucial role in ensuring the success and adoption of products developed by Agile product teams. This leadership position focuses on strategic direction, business stakeholder management, Agile methodology adoption, and expertise development within IT Business Management.

The Head of IT Business Management operates at a strategic level, holding a high degree of autonomy while reporting to the CIO. The role oversees key aspects of IT Business Management within KPMG’s IT Services organization and requires strong leadership, technical expertise, Agile expertise and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Lead and develop the IT BM team, fostering individual expertise and career growth while ensuring well-being and performance.
  • Oversee requirement and stakeholder management for Agile product teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and strategic alignment.
  • Manage the business Demand Supply Management process from an IT Services perspective, maintaining strong relationships with Audit, Advisory, and Central Services leaders.
  • Drive the adoption of Agile methodologies across IT Services by overseeing and providing guidance to Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
  • Ensure adherence to standards regarding portfolio management and Agile ways of working across IT Services.
  • Maintain a holistic view of products handled by both Product and Supporting teams to optimize strategic outcomes.
  • Hold budgetary responsibility for Product Teams in the Agile organization, including assets, licenses, and services.
  • Collaborate with department heads and product owners to align expertise and resources with stakeholder demands.
  • Act as a key member of the IT Management Team.
  • Serve as Deputy to the CIO for IT Services, engaging in high-level strategy discussions and initiatives.
  • Influence senior stakeholders in Audit, Advisory, and Business Services at both strategic and tactical levels.

  • Complex Organizational Dynamics: Managing KPMG’s unique hierarchy while driving Agile transformation in a traditionally structured environment.
  • Team Cohesion: Building a unified IT Business Management team across diverse personalities, age groups, and nationalities.
  • Technical & Strategic Depth: Understanding IT Services’ broad product portfolio and adapting to senior management’s content-driven approach.
  • Balancing Agile & Traditional Frameworks: Representing IT within Agile methodologies while ensuring seamless integration with KPMG’s traditional business structures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Constantly refining operational, tactical, and strategic effectiveness across IT BM expertise areas, such as Business Analysis, Product Ownership, Scrum Mastery, and Digital Adoption.

This is what you bring

  • Master’s degree preferred, with 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent professional experience in a similar position.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to motivate IT BM team members and coordinate with IT  heads. (Good English ability required, Dutch language skills preferred.)
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies, strategic planning, and stakeholder management.
  • Proven ability to drive IT adoption, manage budgets, and influence C-level decision-making.

  • Gross salary between € 6.760,-  and € 10.650,- per month depending on your work experience; annual performance bonus, mobility allowance, a fixed expense allowance, and a working from home allowance of €2.40 per working day.

Step 1. Your application

Have you applied? Then you will receive an invitation for the KPMG Talent Pitch immediately after your application. In the Talent Pitch, we not only get to know you, but you also get to know us better. We will also give you a tour of the world of KPMG. During the pitch, you will complete a personality questionnaire and take an aptitude test. 

Step 2. The first interview

After completing the KPMG Talent Pitch, we will invite you for a first interview with a recruiter. In some cases, a colleague from the relevant department will also be present at the interview. This interview is a mutual introduction, where you also get the chance to ask all the questions you probably have. 

Step 3. Follow-up interview

Did you have a positive conversation and are you still enthusiastic? If we also see a match, a second meeting will follow. In this second interview, we will delve deeper into the role and the substantive themes you will be dealing with. You may be asked to prepare a business case for the interview. Sometimes there is a final interview. 

Step 4. Offer

Is there a match? Then we will make you an offer and hopefully you will start at KPMG soon. The offer will not only include your salary but also all our employment conditions, such as your pension, vacation days, and more! Do you agree with our offer? Step 5. Screening

We want to be an integral and reliable organization in all respects, so we screen everyone who comes to work with us. Validata conducts this screening and checks references, among other things.
