Application procedure
Our four-week application process comprises a number of clear steps. Each step has the same objective: do you fit with KPMG and does KPMG fit with you? We want to get to know each other well.
Trainees, thesis interns and starters
You are cordially invited to participate in our KPMG Talent Pitch. In the KPMG Talent Pitch, not only do we get to know you, but you get to know us better too. We take you on a tour of the world of KPMG. During the KPMG Talent Pitch, you will complete a personality questionnaire and take a capability test.
After a positive outcome of the KPMG Talent Pitch, we invite you for an initial interview with a recruiter. In some cases, a colleague from the relevant department is also present at the interview right away. This interview is a mutual introduction, so you will also have the chance to ask any question you might have.
Still excited? A second introduction is next. In this second interview, we will delve deeper into the job and the substantive topics you will face. You may be asked to prepare a business case for this interview. Sometimes, a third and final interview takes place.
Do we match? In that case, you will receive an offer from us to start at KPMG. In the offer, you will not only find your salary, but also read more about our complete range of benefits, such as your pension, days’ holiday and more. Do you accept our offer? Then we congratulate you as our new colleague and take you to the very last step.
We strive to be an organization of integrity and reliability in all respects, so we screen everyone who joins us. Validata handles this screening, checking testimonials, among other things. Everything OK? Then, your path to a great career at KPMG is wide open. You will start the comprehensive onboarding programme.

Job application advice
Have you seen a suitable job? Increase your chances of a successful job application with practical advice from our experienced recruiters.
Your CV
Our recruiters receive several CVs each day. How do you make sure your CV stands out? Keep it easy to read, short and clear. Use reverse chronological order, so we can immediately see your most recent work experience. Only mention things that are relevant and match the requirements from the job posting as much as possible. Of course, you also show a bit of yourself by referring to hobbies, volunteer work and competences, for example. Finally, we would like to see your contact details. Grammatical errors and typos will not appear in your CV. You are the right person for this job!
Your motivation
With your cover letter, you can set yourself apart from other applicants. Why do you want to work for our company? Why are you right for this job? How do you add value? This is your chance to tell us! Always address your letter to the right person. Include as little information as possible from your CV. We recommend keeping the content of your letter clear and businesslike, but add a personal touch. Be original in your motivation, win us over. End on a positive note, which is pleasant for the reader. One final advice: always have someone else check your letter for spelling and stylistic errors.
Online assessment
Our online assessment consists of an ability test and a personality questionnaire. The ability test offers us insight into your skills in certain fields. Ranging from your verbal abstraction skills to your logical-analytical abilities. Ask the recruiter beforehand which parts your test consists of. You can then use websites such as www.assessment-online.nl or www.intermediair.nl to explore the type of questions you can expect. The personality questionnaire provides insight into your behavioural preferences and competences. Be honest and stay as close to yourself as possible. Base your answers on how you conduct yourself in a professional environment and not your personal life.
Preparing for the first interview
You only get one chance for a first impression. So prepare well for the first introductory meeting. You know what you are good at and what not so good. You know yourself and can name your positive and less positive sides. KPMG is not uncharted territory for you. You've done your research. Through the website, our annual report, professional journals and job fairs/company promotion days. You get what the job entails. Formulate answers in advance to the most likely questions. However, a job interview is never a one-way street. So get your mind right on which questions you would like to ask us. Don't forget to confirm the interview appointment. And know where to go and who to talk to.
Job interviews
At KPMG, we usually have a number of interviews with our applicants. Of course you are on time every time. We are especially curious about who you are. So show yourself. Show passion, eagerness and motivation. Verbal and non-verbal. Consider the interview to be a good dialogue. Listening and asking questions yourself are inextricably linked to this. At the end, ask about the rest of the procedure and thank them for the interview. With these tips, your application process should go smoothly. Good luck!
Tips for an online job interview
Currently, all interviews are conducted online. We get that a video application can be even more exciting than a 'normal' application. Therefore, below there are a few more tips for a video call.
A video application is a real job interview. So choose your clothes with care and prepare well, as you would for an 'offline' job interview.
Test your internet connection, your devices and the tool to be used beforehand. This will prevent problems during the start of your interview. Make sure we can see you clearly, know how you will be displayed and make sure your background and surroundings are quiet and uncluttered. Set your phone to silent mode and make sure it cannot distract you. If despite all this there is still a glitch in the connection, make sure you have other options, like your phone.
Professionals
Did you apply? In most cases, if we see a match between your CV and the vacancy, we will ask you to take an online assessment. The online assessment consists of an ability test and a personality questionnaire. The results provide insight into your behavioural preferences and competences.
After a positive outcome of the assessment, we will cordially invite you for an initial interview with a colleague from the relevant department and a recruiter.
Everyone excited? In many cases, a second introduction follows. This second interview delves deeper into the job and the substantive topics you will face. A business case can be part of the follow-up interview. Sometimes, a third and final interview takes place.
Do we match? In that case, you will receive an offer from us to start at KPMG. In the offer, you will not only find your salary, but also read more about our complete range of benefits, such as your pension, days’ holiday and more. Do you accept our offer?
