Your challenges

Help shape KPMG’s data-driven future as a Data Office Governance & Quality Specialist in Amstelveen. You will connect business and technology, strengthen data ownership and quality, and enable colleagues across KPMG to manage and use data effectively and responsibly.

This is what you bring

  • You have 3+ of experience in data governance, data management, and data quality.
  • You understand data ownership, data stewardship, metadata management, data cataloguing, data lifecycle management and data quality principles.
  • You have experience enabling Data Owners and Data Stewards through onboarding, training, communication and practical guidance.
  • You can design and facilitate workshops, governance forums and training sessions for both business and technical audiences.
  • You have worked with data governance or data management platforms such as Informatica, Collibra, Microsoft Purview or comparable tools.

Not sure whether to apply because you don’t meet every requirement? If this role excites you and you see yourself in the profile, we’d love to hear from you. Because we believe talent grows and shows up in many different ways.

What will you do?

  • Build trusted relationships with business and technology teams and create alignment around data priorities.
  • Enable Data Owners and Data Stewards through onboarding, training, guidance and continued support.
  • Facilitate workshops and governance forums that turn discussion into clear decisions, responsibilities and actions.
  • Embed data governance and quality practices into day-to-day operations across different business domains.
  • Improve governance models, ownership structures, controls and processes to help KPMG realise greater value from its data.

As a Data Office Governance & Quality Specialist, you will join KPMG’s Central Data Office. Together with colleagues across the organisation, you will help build a culture in which data is clearly owned, carefully managed and used responsibly.

You will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, domain experts and technology teams. Your role is to connect these groups, create a shared understanding of governance responsibilities and help translate data management principles into practical ways of working.

An important part of your role is activating and supporting KPMG’s data management communities. You will onboard Data Owners and Data Stewards, develop training and guidance materials, and help them understand how their responsibilities connect to everyday business processes. By keeping people engaged and informed, you will help data governance become part of how teams work rather than a separate exercise.

You will organise and facilitate workshops, governance forums and working sessions. These meetings may focus on ownership, data quality, privacy, access management, governance controls or decisions about specific data assets. You will help participants reach clear agreements and record responsibilities, decisions and next steps.

You will also contribute to the design and implementation of data governance operating models. This includes defining ownership structures, governance responsibilities, decision rights and accountability frameworks. You will document roles and responsibilities, responsibility matrices, validation steps, sign-off procedures and business ownership models.

Working with business and technology teams, you will help embed data quality expectations and governance controls into day-to-day operations. You will support privacy assessments, access management, KPI monitoring, reporting and the execution of governance processes. You will also use platforms such as Informatica, Collibra and Microsoft Purview to support these activities and respond to the needs of different business domains.

The role combines relationship-building with practical delivery. You can translate complex governance concepts into clear policies, procedures, guidance and operating practices. You are comfortable coordinating cross-functional initiatives, balancing different priorities and creating progress through collaboration rather than formal authority.

By continuously improving KPMG’s data management capabilities, standards and processes, you will help the organisation understand, manage and use its data more effectively. You will have the opportunity to shape how governance works in practice while contributing directly to KPMG’s wider data ambitions.

Application procedure

Step 1. Your application

When you apply, we will see if we find a match with your resume and the job requirements. The next step is usually an online assessment. This assessment consists of an aptitude test and a personality questionnaire. The results provide insight into your preferred behavior and competencies.

Step 2. The first interview

After a positive completion of the assessment, we will invite you for a first interview with a recruiter and a colleague from the relevant department. Here, we mainly want to get to know you, and you also get the chance to get to know us.

Step 3. Follow-up interview

Everyone enthusiastic? In many cases, a second meeting follows. During the second interview, we will delve deeper into the role and the substantive themes you will be dealing with. A business case may be part of the follow-up interview. Sometimes there is a final interview.

Step 4. Offer

Do we have a match? Then you will receive an offer from us to start at KPMG. The offer will not only include your salary but also more about our complete package of employment conditions, such as your pension, vacation days, and more! Do you say “yes”? Then we congratulate you as our new colleague and take you to the very last step.

Step 5. Screening

We want to be an integral and reliable organization in all respects. Therefore, we screen everyone who comes to work with us. DISA conducts this screening and checks references, among other things. Is everything in order? Then the path to a great career at KPMG is open to you. You will then start with the onboarding program.
