In our ‘Proud to be’…' series, give a stage to our colleagues who are allies to the LGBTQ+ community within KPMG. In this blog we give the floor to Polina (she/her), supervisor Audit. Polina joined our team eight months ago from Moscow. We ask her what ‘come as you are’ means to her and how colleagues can be better allies.
Be yourself without doubts
KPMG colleague Polina (aged 27, supervisor Audit, is a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Polina’s road to self-acceptance was not always easy. It took her a long time before she dared to be open about who she is. She moved from Moscow to Amsterdam a few months ago. Fortunately, she now feels completely at home at KPMG and her workplace is a safe environment where she dares to be open about who she is and shares her plans outside work with colleagues, without feeling judged.
