Your challenges
- Function as NL P&C lead by delivering timely and effective location-based support to Global Leaders, P&C Business Partners (P&CBPs) and Global colleagues for all people-related queries and matters; drive compliance with all applicable KPMGI and location-specific policies, rules, regulations, and laws
- Network with key contacts and leaders in the US T&C team to influence key people decisions affecting KPMGI people.
- Liaise with US member firm for all aspects of the annual performance development cycle and compensation planning, including providing information and data to be uploaded into member firm systems and included in member firm performance processes as well as accounting for unique member firm requirements.
- Liaise with the member firm T&C team and oversee/coordinate local aspects of the following people activities: Global Mobility, Learning & Development, Remote and Flexible Working Requests, Onboarding/Offboarding, Leaves of Absence, and Other types of leave.
- Manage employee relations matters by applying local firm ER policies, advocate for Works Council support in relevant KPMGI matters, consult with IOGC and/or local OGC as needed for guidance on approach and resolution, and while keeping the P&CBP informed of status and outcome.
- Drive location-specific and local firm people communications with support of KPMGI People Comms Lead, including but are not limited to location-specific Teams and ELT Channels, Town Halls, Newsletters, Policy Updates, and other communications relating to local policy and process deployment.
This is what you bring
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as an HR practitioner in Professional Services setting with proficiency managing HR process and employee relation matters within their local jurisdiction
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, or Business Administration, or the equivalent work experience. Preferably, a master’s degree in an HR-related field or Business Administration and/or an HR certification such as CIPD Level 5, PHR/SPHR, SHRM or equivalent
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles; knowledge of HR related laws and regulations; ability to develop clear and concise written communication and prepare performance documentation; strong background in Employee Relations; experience managing HR processes and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, an HRIS, and data analysis tools.
- Experience applying a strategic lens to business needs and talent challenges, including prioritization, with a proven track record of providing solutions and translating them into people initiatives and plans. The ability to deliver agreed plans either autonomously or by leading a cross-functional HR project team.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen and understanding of business imperatives with the ability to operate in a complex matrix organization.
- Ability to build relationships and credibility with senior level stakeholders and clients and use data to influence client initiatives and actions.

Your Role

HR policy expertise and process execution (40%)
- As the location-based P&C lead, drive compliance with all applicable KPMGI and location-specific policies, rules, regulations, and laws by:
- Providing input to the design and development of KPMGI P&C policies.
- Contributing to embedding local firm IDE practice, processes, training and insights into the KPMGI policies.
- Implementing KPMGI P&C policies consistently and in line with both location-specific and centralized KPMGI guidelines.
- Responsible for leading, advising, and delivering on the location aspects of:
- Compensation matters, including:
- Pay Planning
- Annual Bonuses
- All other off-cycle bonuses, such as signing bonuses and retention bonuses
- Advice on structure of packages and local benchmarks and market/equity adjustments
- Consultation on job descriptions, job leveling, and interpreting job assignments in alignment with local member firm practices
- Promotions
- Compensation matters, including:
- Liaise with member firms during the performance development cycle, provide performance ratings, and ensure accuracy for compensation.
- Provide information and data to be uploaded into member firm systems, as needed.
- Provide location-specific reporting to the KPMGI Data & Analytics team to ensure accurate people information is reflected in the system and verify accuracy of local data captured in KPMGI database.
- Share local knowledge and leading practices with the KPMGI P&C Advisors team and broader KPMGI P&C Team.
- Consult with legal counsel as needed for policy related matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable SOQM standards and controls for all in-scope activities.
- Actively lead and/or participate in special projects that support the execution of P&C annual priorities in support of KPMGI’s People Strategy
HR support to local leaders and people (20%)
- Deliver timely and effective location-based support to Global Leaders, P&C BPs and Global colleagues for all people-related queries and matters, following appropriate SLAs. Apply practical knowledge of practices and policies in the business to resolve complex issues.
- Build collaborative relationships with the P&C team members and P&C BPs, with particular focus on BPs with Global groups with large populations in their location.
- Identify location-specific talent trends to be addressed and provide strategic input to P&C Leadership Team and P&C BPs.
- Drive location-specific and local firm people communications with support of KPMGI People Comms Lead. Communications include but are not limited to location-specific MS Teams and ELT Channels, Town Halls, Newsletters, Policy Updates, and other communications relating to local policy and process deployment.
- Function as proxy Performance Managers to colleagues with overseas performance managers, as required.
- Support business continuity during crisis by providing member firm information to business leaders and providing relevant list of colleagues for Global locations.

- Alignment between member firm and KPMGI leadership to KPMGI approaches, including people policies, programs, and protocols.
- Timely updates from local firms on relevant matters impacting the KPMGI community
- Opportunity to influence key decisions impacting KPMGI colleagues
- Exceptions or extended deadlines to local firm policy when appropriate
Employee Relations (20%)
- Act as the primary contact for P&C BPs and leadership team for all KPMGI people matters within member firm or location jurisdiction.
- Review, interpret, update and communicate local firm ER policies.
- Manage ER cases with the support of local member firm ER team, where available.
- Consult with legal counsel as needed for guidance on approach and resolution.
- Advocate for Works Council support in relevant KPMGI matters, as appropriate.
- Ensure P&C BP is consulted as necessary and always informed of outcome.
- Advise and collaborate with P&C BP on remedial recommendations.
